The chateau of Chanay is located in the South-East of the Mayenne County, in the Pays de Loire region, next to the village of Grez-en-Bouère, between Château-Gontier and Sablé-sur-Sarthe. You can come:
By train:
Take the Paris-Nantes TGV up to Sablé-sur-Sarthe (approximately an hour and fifteen minutes (1h15mn) from Paris); a 15mn drive by car will bring you from Sablé to the Chateau of Chanay. Alternatively, you can take the Paris-Rennes TGV up to Laval (approximately an hour and thirty minutes from Paris), then drive for 25mn to reach the chateau.
By car:
Leaving from Paris, take the A10 motorway, then the A11, then the A81. Leave the A81 motorway at Exit n°1 after Le Mans, and go towards Sablé-sur-Sarthe (262 km from Paris, including 226 km of dual carriageway). In Sablé-sur-Sarthe, take the D28 road towards Château-Gontier. You will find the Château of Chanay on the left, 3 kilometers (approximately two miles) after the village of Grez-en-Bouère.
